The 11U Bandits Blue just concluded their tournament play in the PBR Wold Series and the coaches could not be prouder of the boys. They played some of their best baseball against some VERY high level competition. They were ultimately knocked out in the quarterfinals 3-2 in extra innings against the top ranked team in Illinois. Had that game been played on a normal 11U sized field, the Bandits would have put up several more runs as at least 4 of their hits went to the warning track and off the fence of larger field. Their opponents could not say the same as most of their hits were singles in the gaps with one double that rolled to a corner.

Earlier in the tournament, the boys lost to the Ironmen 7-6 who went on to win the tournament. It was an early game on Saturday morning as part of pool play. 11U Blue finished the tournament 3-3, 3 of the 6 were decided by 1 run and 1 by 2 runs. The boys are truly playing Elite level baseball and are competing with the best teams in the country.

After the 3-2 extra innings loss, the umpires and tournament directors lined up to tell the boys that they were the best defensive 11u team that they ever saw and that was the best 11U game they were ever a part of. Fans from both sides agreed. It was a shame that someone had to lose that game, and even more so that it was us. The winning run was scored in the bottom of the 8th on a suicide squeeze play with a play at the plate. A fitting end to a great game.

The 11u Bandits move on this week for the their last tournament, the Game Day USA National Championship. Many of the teams we saw last weekend are also competing in this tournament – so it we are expecting another great weekend of baseball.

The 11u games will be played in Glen Ellyn and begin this Thursday morning at 8 am. A complete schedule will come out on Tuesday night.

Go Bandits!
